Miramar brings new life to bolero with original songs and new interpretations of golden-era classics, blending influences like psychedelic funk and rock. The band features the captivating vocals of Laura Ann Singh and Rei Alvarez—also the group’s main songwriter—along with pianist and arranger Marlysse Simmons-Argandona and a rotating lineup of all-star percussionists, bassists, and guitarists.

In most of Latin America, if you are by the sea, there will be a place called Miramar (“look to the sea”) with a view of the ocean. If music is playing, it’s likely boleros, a romantic genre born in the late 1800s that gained international popularity through the collaborations between Puerto Rican, Mexican, and Cuban musicians.
