Marcella Simien is a Louisiana-born artist and ninth-generation Creole whose music reflects her journey through spirituality and identity. Blending soul, American roots, blues, and jazz, she creates a sound shaped by the cultural legacy of her lineage, bridging tradition and innovation.
Daughter of two-time Grammy-winning Zydeco musician Terrance Simien, she has spent more than two decades developing her career. Simien has toured nationally and is also a teaching artist with the Orpheum Theatre Group and the Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts.
