ENRICHMENT DAY - Smithsonian National Zoo

Celebrate Enrichment Day at the Smithsonian's National Zoo on Saturday, Aug. 25! Participate in training and enrichment activities, attend demonstrations and talk to animal keepers about why enrichment is such an important part of the everyday care of Zoo animals.

What is Enrichment?
Unique forms of stimulation, such as balls, climbing structures and puzzle feeders, give the Zoo's 1,800 animals a safe and creative outlet to demonstrate their natural behaviors. When combined with appropriate enclosures and proper socialization, these introduced objects, sounds, smells and other stimuli enhance Zoo animals' well-being.
