B&O Unlocked: B&O C-2943 Caboose - B&O Railroad Museum
The little red caboose has long been synonymous with the American Railroad, so prepare to step into that iconic symbol.
The B&O No. C-2943 is an example of an I-7A caboose, which is known for its steel body and protruding bay windows. Cabooses served a plethora of purposes on the railroad, including mobile workspaces, watchtowers, manual braking stations, and sleeping quarters. This caboose served from 1961 to 1995 and serves as a testament to the long life and purpose of train cabooses. Don’t miss the opportunity to step inside and experience what life would have been like aboard the B&O No. C-2943!
